The new LanScaper Network Tester is the first in a new line of Physical
Layer Network Management Devices. The LanScaper combines the functions of
a high-end cable tester and length measurement device with the capability
to monitor and correct network problems connected with the physical layer
and link conditions of the network. LanScaper identifies port services
like Ethernet, ISDN, POTS and Token-Ring while reporting such crucial
information as network speed, capability and location of switches and
other network devices. LanScaper's Pinging function verifies connectivity
to network devices and queries PC/NIC's.
LanScaper's unique functions include the ability to detect "Phantom Power"
per IEEE 802.3af specifications, to report current and voltage capability
of analog telephone lines, and to identify (map) remotes while cable
testing. |
Siemon STM8
 |
- Tests
T568A, T568B, USOC, 10BASE-T, Token Ring, and TP-PMD
wiring configurations
- Test cable runs up to 900m (2950 ft.)
- The presence of line voltage is indicated on the display to
help prevent accidental damage to the unit
- LED flashes during testing and remains lit after pass
- Indications for 6- and 8-position jacks
- The STM-8 consists of a hand-held master unit and a remote.
The kit comes packaged in a padded nylon carrying case with two modular test cords, The
Siemon Company's Wiring Reference Guide, instructions, and a 9V alkaline battery. Each of
the four remotes are individually identified by the master unit.
- The UTP modular cords are equipped with patented
"universal" plugs that fit into any standard 6- or 8-position modular jack.
- Includes a length test

Tempo 468
Modular Cable tester
468 Modular Cable tester
 |
Most voice and data network problems are wire related. Open or shorted
pairs and general mis-wires can be quickly diagnosed with the 468 Tester. Why spend
hundreds on a high-end tester when all you really need are basic functions? The Model 468
rises above the competition with its unique features including a built-in tone
generator. Simply connect any 8-position modular plug to the appropriate jack on the
transmitter and a sweeping tone signal is applied to all pairs. At the far end of the
cable, use any Tempo Electronics inductive amplifier (probe) to locate the corresponding plug or jack. Connecting the receiver unit
automatically activates the test process. Sequencing red and green LEDs provide fast,
accurate and simple to understand results. The Model 468 identifies opens, shorts,
transposed pairs and will even alert the technician if connected to an active circuit
without harming the unit. |

Test-Um Resi-Tester
 |
Resi-TesterTM is the first identifier and verification tester designed
exclusively for all the wiring environments found in Home Networking and
Home Automation. CATV, telephone systems, audio cable, security/alarm
wiring, and network cabling can all be tested and located using the
Resi-TesterTM and optional room identifier sets. Multiple input ports and
included adapter cables mean any wire can be attached and tested!
Resi-TesterTM displays
cabling results using a large easy to read LCD with clear concise
information showing all the faults connected with the various cable types.
It warns of voltage on lines and shows a Pass or Fail message after each
test.
The built-in tone generator
sends a signal down installed wires, so that they can be traced in the walls
and their exact terminus identified. The built-in remote will identify
individual outlets whether they are phone, cable or data network. Using the
optional multi-identifier sets, the user can verify connections on up to 10
coax outlets and 8 paired cables simultaneously for wire-mapping the largest
jobs easily and efficiently. |
Siemon MT5000
 |
The MT-5000 is a versatile hand-held
cable tester- it is fast, reliable, and durable. It tests opens, shorts, and miswires from
1- to 25-pair and can accommodate a combination of 25-pair and modular jack terminations.
For instance, using the TAP-50® test adapter, the remote unit can be attached
to a 66 block that is connected to multiple horizontal cable runs in the equipment closet.
Then, using the modular jack in the Master Unit, one person can test up to six 4-pair
station cables in the work area. Cable runs of up to 762m (2,500 ft.) can be tested with
accuracy. |
